This Auction is for a gold filled necklace and a 20mm locket with a fired, polished, soldered and machined .40 cal. bullet: The locket itself is a Vintage 12k gold filled locket, custom made with a floating 3 mm amethyst cabochon.
The locket itself, comprised of the crystals and bezel, is hand made from vintage, new old stock. These lockets are made from the inherited contents of my grandfather's jewelry briefcase. Inside the briefcase, there were materials to make both an approximately 20mm ( large locket) and 15 mm (smaller locket). My grandfather made and sold jewelry in his shop in Leadville, Colorado closing in the early 70's.
The locket components (crystals and bezels) have been stored for over 50 years and have survived time quite nicely. They are new, old stock and have never been worn. These, being gold-filled are extremely durable and will last for a long time. I've added a new beautiful 18 inch 14k gold filled cable chain to each locket. The larger locket is roughly the size of a quarter/ nickel.
Inside this locket I've placed a cut and machined fired .40 cal. bullet. I spent some time cutting, soldering and polishing this item and I think it looks quite nice inside this locket. I've added a natural and genuine 3 mm cabochon that floats inside the space where the fired primer was removed. The bullet itself floats inside the locket as does the amethyst cabochon in the primer hole. The genuine natural amethyst adds a nice bright color to the locket. The locket can be opened with a small screwdriver and the creation looks nice with or without the gem (see pic)
Please look at my other listings for different locket creations including empty lockets that you can add your own items too. I'm making more and will be listing them. Ask any questions you have. Thanks for looking. Let me know if you want a special caliber creation for that someone special.
